The Best Virtual Universities Organisation  is the main voice of the virtual higher education community globally . BVU is open to membership from individual virtual  universities, as well as associations and networks of higher education institutions.

 

As BVU  strongly believes that higher education institutions have a central role to play in the development of the Virtual Higher Education and Research areas, active support and guidance to its members is a key objective of the organisation .

 

BVU members receive electronic news and publications concerning developments, trends and political issues linked to virtual  higher education and research. Members are also given the possibility to inform others about their own activities through the BVU Member News service.

 

The BVU website has been updated to facilitate not only the accessibility of a wide range of information, but also to make an online membership directory  available. Virtual communities have been developed to promote and facilitate co-operation and communication within specific groups of members.

 

BVU organises yearly a number of conferences and seminars which provide opportunities for member virtual universities to meet their colleagues from across the world  to discuss areas of mutual interest.

 

BVU  continues to develop its membership criteria  and activities, which include institutional evaluations, management seminars and involvement in thematic projects.
